Papers, 1832-1876.

This collection consists of twenty-two sermons, dated 1832 to 1875, a list of Biblical references, and a record of marriages performed by Paine, dated 1833 to 1876. The sermons were delivered primarily in Holden, occasionally in surrounding towns, and for the Worcester Central Conference of Congregational Ministers and the dedication of Grove Cemetery in 185. The sermons include "On Trusting God" and the "Christian Pilgrimage."

Rev. William Pomeroy Paine (1802-1876) was born in Ashfield, Mass. He graduated from Amherst College in 1827, and from Andover Theological Seminary in 1832.
